Aquadiver Water Park
Located on the outskirts of Playa De Aro this is one of the best water parks on the Costa Brava offering something for everyone. The Park opens in early June and a free shuttle bus runs from Cala Gogo in high season.

Golf
There are several golf courses within 30 minutes drive of Cala Gogo including the PGA Catalunya voted Spain’s best course in 2012 and 2013.

Diving
Take a trip to Estartit and visit the Illes Medes, the best natural reserve in the western Mediterranean. The diversity of depths provides diving opportunities for everyone from absolute beginners to the most experienced diver.
If you don’t want to get your feet wet you can visit the islands on a glass-bottomed boat.

Platja d'Aro (1.5 m)
Platja d'Aro is a popular beach resort on the Costa Brava coastline. It has developed parallel to the beach and grown up for the tourist industry. It has pretty good shops, some interesting restaurants, good night-life and a large beach.

Coastal Path
From the beach at Cala Gogo you can follow the coastal path to Sant Antoni and Palamos to the north, or from Cala Gogo to Platja d'Aro to the south.
Along the path there are several picturesque coves and small beaches as well as stunning views of the coastline.

Castell d'Aro
3 km inland from Platja d'Aro, is a medieval village with Benedormiens castle at its centre.

S'Agaro
Close to Platja d'Aro is the very upmarket resort of S'Agaro, a village of houses all built in the Modernist sytle by Rafael Maso, one of Gaudi's students.

Palamos (6 km)
A bay of fine sand, that of Palamós, interrupts the cliffs dominating the topography of the Costa Brava.
This is where the town has been since the 12th century: a former fishing village which today is well equipped for tourism and leisure. The beaches, coves, sailing facilities and fishing port are the town's main attractions, although the medieval streets of its old town should not be forgotten.

La Bisbal (21 km)
A charming town renowned for the production of ceramics, La Bisbal also hosts a weekly market (approx.150 stalls) which takes place in the town centre. There are plenty of shops to browse and a good selection of bars and restaurants.
Stroll around the streets and have a look at the wide variety of ceramic items that are produced here. If you would like to take away a craftwork souvenir of your trip, this is the best place to get one.

Peratallada (27 km)
This lovely village is built of stone from the moat which surrounds Peratallada, its name means 'carved stone'. Defensive walls surround parts of the village and it was one of the best fortified medieval villages in Spain.
Nowadays it is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, with gorgeous cobblestone streets and picturesque squares. It’s a popular place for day-trippers who come here to soak up the medieval atmosphere but stick around in the evenings for a romantic dinner at one of the numerous restaurants.

Our Client Reviews of Cala Gogo

Wow! Fantastic site, so pretty. Had an amazing lazy holiday, we loved the beach and easy to get to with the train, we will be booking again.

Gauld - August 2016

We arrived to be met by Norman, the siesta rep, great fella for a Chelsea fan, anyway he put us in his golf buggy and took us to reception where we booked in etc, he then drove us up to our accommodation, which was a siesta four lodge, which was pleasing on the eye with great views overlooking the med, and quite comfy to boot, all you needed was in there, along with a tv that gave you all bbc channels, itv and c4, no c5 though, which could be a blessing. the large pool area was very clean and well maintained with constant lifeguards in attendance, the supermarket is very reasonable with some great offers on. and the bakery next door produced some lovely breads. the staff are all very, very polite and helpful, the bar is a bit of a joke in the evening when entertainment is on however, 1 till to run the bar, take away, restaurant and ice cream parlour, sometimes leaving it at twenty deep at the till. beer a bit above average price, 4.50 euros for a pint of san Miguel, or a 7 pint jug of joy for 24 euros, which was better value, the shorts are an absolute ripoff, I was charged 16 euros for 2 single Bacardi and cokes. the beach was great , with very good snorkelling to boot too, I really enjoyed it down there, and the train back was a god send , especially after a hard day in the med. platja d'aro is a great little town with lots of eateries and watering holes, we enjoyed the cactus bar (all football) and a lively bar ideal for people watching next door to Johann cruyffs shoe shop, yes the greatest footballer in my eyes has opened a shoe shop of his own brand of footwear. we really enjoyed our stay in cala gogo, and a big thank you must go to Norman and Linda, always attentive and helpful.the only down side I can mention is the hike back up to the lodge from the site entrance or the shops/pool area, it can be quite a tester in that heat and humidity especially when carrying shopping
Jamie M - August 2015

We visited in June 2014, our kids were 8 and 4 at the time. We stayed with Siesta in a Siesta 4 lodge, had a fantastic holiday. Can't fault the campsite, so clean and well maintained.
The Siesta lodge was fine for our needs, lovely and clean with a fab sea view. Our Siesta reps Norman and Linda were great, so helpful and friendly.
Site facilities were great. Lovely swimming pools. Great beach shingle though so you aren't able to make sand castles. Loved the beach bar.
We went out of season and it was just right. Although entertainment doesn't start until later in the year, it didn't bother us. The towns of Playa d'Aro and Palamos are good to visit. No boat trips until end of June so we did miss that. We may go slightly later in the season next time. Would recommend to anyone for a lovely family holiday. We had a great time. I can recommend the white wine in the site supermarket. Something le mar ( I think) only €1.30 and very moreish.

Attended cala gogo with family in Siesta 6 home. Site is well run with good clean facilities good pool and well stocked shop with competitive prices. Own beach which again good.
Site not for limited mobility as on a hill and will strengthen your legs over course of holiday re walking up and down it.
Accommodation with Siesta was excellent.
Would recommend the site but it is a continental site with the majority from holland, France and Spain. A good family site with good towns close by too
Rich068 - Aug 2013

The campsite is the cleanest that we have ever been to, it is kept immaculate and it is evident that all staff take a pride in their surroundings. Security is fantastic with guards placed throughout the site especially in the evenings. The pools are kept clean and lifeguards are on the ball with the rules and safety.
The eating facilities were basic but served good food at a good price. The shop offers a good range of food and was very competitive price wise.
The beach is beautiful one of the best, clear, clean water and fine shingle, the beach bar is great. The beach gets packed so it’s best to get there early to secure a spot. There is a Lifeguard at the beach. The sea gets deep very quickly so little ones would need to be with an adult even for a paddle.
As the brochure says this site is on a very steep hill and it really is, you need to be fit to be able to handle the walking but a transport service is provided to and from the beach free of charge, we were at the top of the site and it was a 15 minute walk to the beach.
All staff on this camp were friendly, helpful and had the holidaymakers interest at heart.
To sum up, Cala Gogo and Siesta offers good value for money, for a beach holiday in the sun, in a clean safe environment.
Jane – August 2013

We stayed in June 2012 with Siesta in an 8 berth lodge. The Siesta reps were brilliant and sorted all of our problems.
The site itself is spotless, very well maintained and with the nicest cleanest loo's I’ve ever seen on a campsite. The site is on a fairly steep hill but the upside of this is brilliant views of the sea from almost anywhere on the site. The Pools are only basic but very clean. Our kids loved the splash pool.
The food in both the restaurant and beach bar was excellent although does seem to be more geared towards Dutch / German tastes. My wife is vegetarian and did struggle a bit for choice. Tapas in the beach bar was also very good.
There is a free "gua gua" ( land train ) to the beach and it’s a shame that this doesn’t run around the whole site rather than just from the pool area.
The mini club for the kids was brilliant (my kids were getting up early and demanding to go every day), plenty of different activities and the staff were very good with the kids. They also had a giant bouncy castle up most evenings as well as kids discos and water discos.
The evening entertainment was ok but only a couple of nights a week in early June, and then only a disco and karaoke but I believe they do more in peak season. The onsite shop was very good and much cheaper than expected as was the bakery.
We enjoyed it so much that we have re-booked for next year and will be staying longer than a week this time.
Playa d'aro is a lovely resort with a mini luna park for the kids although when we stayed it only opened in the evening. Palamos is also well worth a visit and despite being "touristy" it’s kept a lot of its charm.
Simon - June 2012

Accessibility

This Holiday Parc is located on a very steep hillside.

There are no areas of the site that are not affected by considerable gradients and we therefore do not recommend this destination for any guests with wheelchairs or any kind of walking difficulty or respiratory problems.

Surfaces and roadways within the site vary between tarmac/hard surfaces and sandy/gravelled surfaces.

Our Siesta Lodges are located in two areas of the site, both have a steep uphill route from the site entrance.

Access from ground level into your Siesta Lodge is via steps and we do not have lodges that are adapted for wheelchairs.

If you would like any further advice on the suitability of our Lodges for your requirements our Sales Team would be pleased to help
