Siesta Holidays Statement

Important update

Foreign and Commonwealth Office Reinstate ‘Non Essential Travel Only’ Advice for Mainland Spain 25th July 2020 and include 14 day Quarantine requirement on return to UK from Spain.


Over the last weeks we have grown more confident that demand was still there for a scaled down operation from late August onwards and our plans were being put in place to deliver this. Coach travel has developed as a reasonably safe way to operate but with the Government change of advice, the situation has again been taken out of our control as this annuls all insurance.

As a responsible Company, the health, safety and welfare of our clients and staff are paramount. We cannot put our holidaymakers in a position where your travel plans are at high risk of being disrupted and we will not go against the legal advice to operate. There may be further positive or negative changes to advice regarding travel to Spain or even within the UK that makes the situation still volatile for the coming months. Therefore regrettably we have to concede that we will be unable to operate our coach inclusive holidays for the remainder of this summer. Our Accommodation Only Lodges and Hotels will still go ahead as planned.

Losing a whole summer is quite clearly devastating for Siesta Holidays and our loyal staff and customers. We will however continue to move forward to 2021 with confidence that the Coronavirus pandemic is behind us and we can all get back to fantastic summer holidays in Spain & France for 2021.

We will contact customers affected in departure date order to advise customers of the options available. We obviously hope that customers will continue to defer their holidays with us until 2021. We will offer the same holiday for 2021 at your 2020 price and will continue to do so up until 28th August 2020 and that any winter tours may remain unaffected.

You will be aware the Travel and Hospitality sector has been hit perhaps the hardest over the last six months and will be working hard to streamline and make our operations for 2021 as cost effective as possible. We may have to make some changes, but we will endeavour to keep all our loyal customers up to date with developments and plans for 2021.Be assured that the same campsites and destinations that you were looking forward to enjoying in 2020 will be available to you in 2021.

I would like to thank all customers for their patience and in particular those who so far have deferred 2020 to 2021 and have done so in consideration of the extremely challenging times we have found ourselves in. Your fantastic support has enabled us to get through this crisis and to start to plan your 2021 holiday.
